One year of hell

So..that's it. It's over. Was it a good one? No. It had good moments. But it had pretty bad ones too. Will the next be better? No one can say. Everybody keeps saing that it can only get better from now on, that there will be a light at the end of the tunnel, but I'm not convinced. I'll see. What else can I do. The only thing I am shure about is that this life is a long trip, sometimes a good one, sometimes a bad one. Let's handle it like this!

Sometimes you hit the ground quite hard....

...and so I did. For the second time this year. It's already November, the year has nealy passed and I have to start again. Again. From zero on. Shure I do what I should do, get a job, get a new place to live, but it seems pretty strange at the moment. But now I feel defeat, I'm sad, I'm lonely. Well, at least that's what a game of Tarot told me weeks ago. But I have to keep going, even if I have not much energie left, I have to get everthing in order again. But well, everything has it's purpose, sometimes you need time to see the meaning behind things, sometimes you need time to get it all sorted out. Then new things can happen, and one thing's for shure...they will happen. I hope everything will be good, new, happy, without all the sorrows and problems of the past. And there is this possibility that it will. That way or another...the only thing you have to do is...you better hold on tight!

My travelling friend

I got a new friend today, to be exact a travelling friend. It's a project from a school here in Darmstadt where studends made little "travelling friends" which were given to travelling people to get as much around as possible. So mine will travel with me to burning man...where I try to pass him to someone else...I'm thinking about Karen ;-)cause he looks like that he wants to visit Singapore! A Poi break?

For quite a couple of weeks I don't enjoy Poi the way it was before, so I thought I should probably take a break from it. Why? Hmmm, good question! Well, maybe it's just a period of time that will past when I will have a break...that's what I really hope. Also I changed a bit. Like I was tould that some people gone to Birte at Feuerwelt and asked her why I didn't play Firepoi there because they like how I'm playing...don't understand me wrong, I feel very honored by that, it's really nice to hear when someone likes the ting you're doing, but on the other hand it puts a strange pressure on me. I always have some thoughts somewhere in my head that I have to play beautiful to cope with those expectations. And that's strange. When I started playing poi I always did it for me, and only for me. Maybe I have to find that relaxed attitude again. Then it might work again without thinking "man, that was a really crappy piece of poi-playing" Then I might find the door to the place again that the poi-people call "the flow". I'll work on that. But I'm looking forward to do a video with Karen in SF, and also I will play fire at burning man...nobody knows me there (ok, not nobody) so I can play just for me...let's see if I'll find the flow again! Another strange thing happened also related to poi...a guy talked to me at camp tipsy, he's the one making the glowballs and he wants me to test the new prototypes...nice, I really felt honored then. So I'll do that as well and I'll post my opinion about it here, but at the moment I really think they have the potential to be better than the Ogg-Poi from Flowtoys!

The spaghetti incident

Yesterday I've been to Annikas farewell-party, she's going away for quite a while-We all, gonna miss you, have a great time and take care!!! After some tasty wine and when we run out of crackers we found some spaghetti, which can be eaten as some kind of crackers as well...but also used as a perfect toy...so here is what happened:

The non standart use of italian pasta:

1.Use it as a straw (after a few attempts we found out that it isn't working)

Some things...

Fusion, Silly Poi Videos, Burning Man and Workshoptour

Yay! I just came back from Fusion Festival...it was a bit of a last minute decision to go there but it was worth it! And I rediscovered my likes for electronic music...and now I want more! But all the stuff I had was on my old harddrive...and that broke. But I met nice people there, ant the festival itself is soooooo nice. Like intallations everywhere, theaters, cinemas, slacklines, performances...and a nice firespace (thanks Tom)

I also have done a new Poi-Video because Karen asked me...but it went totally wrong and the only thing i could do was making fun out of it, so here it is:



I also decidet to go to burning man! Huzza! So I'm selling my car and my motorbike a base amplifier and a cabinet...if someone's inrested, let me know.

Since I have no job at the moment I think I'll do a small Poi-Workshop tour in germany...but I'm only at the beginning at the organisation, hope that'll work. Thanks to Birte to encouraging me to do it!

German customs suck...and new Poi-Video

So I finally ordert some Flowtoys in the USA and sending the by priority mail was only 1$ more the normal I did order them that way. So the delivery from the US to Germany took only a few days and I was looking forward to have them by thursday (which is today) but they a stuck in german customs now for two days! :-/ What are the doing with them?

I also posted a new Video on youtube, not a particular good one just from the last spinning meeting in Mainz. But since then I know that I really have to get some light firepoi, it was so much fun playing with Doros poi which were a lot lighter then my superheavy Isis Poi!

Web 2.PUHH!

Mann, langsam wird es anstrengend. Jeden Tag denke ich so bei mir das ich mal wieder etwas auf die Seite hier setzen sollte und was mach ich stattdessen? Ich hänge auf Facebook rum. Das Web 2.0 kann doch anstrengender sein als ich dachte, da kommt man ja garnicht mehr aus dem Haus vor lauter virtuellem kommuniziern. Schlimm eigentlich. Ich denke ich sollte mal irgentwo austreten. Einfach so. Ausserdem ist eh alles chaotisch, daher hier mein Motto für die Woche: "....I think i've gone insane, I can't remember my own name...."



...und ein richtiges Video gibt's dazu auch nicht! :-/

Eine Woche im Paradies

So...der Workshop im Purnati Center of teh Arts ist vorbei. Es war unglaublich! Aber heute ist Earth Day, dort werden wir uns wohl alle treffen und die naechsten Tage ist wohl auch einiges. Also mal sehen. Ein genauerer Bericht und Bilder folgen.

Eine fruehe Rueckkehr?

Hmmm...da mir jetzt gerade furchtbar langweilig ist (denn ich habe nun 90% der Insel schon gesehen) denke ich darueber nach nach dem Poi-Retreat wieder zurueck zu kommen. Ausserdem geht mir der Laerm, der Dreck, das andauernde "angehauen werden" wegen irgenteinem Scheiss den ich nicht moechte und die feuchtschwuehle Hitze (alle meine Sachen haben einen gewissen Feuchtigkeitsgrad erreicht und trocknen nicht mehr, inclusive mir selbst) auf die Nerven. So doll wie es klingt ist Bali nicht ist mein resuemee im Moment. Total ueberbewertet. Wenn man her kommt reichen 3 Wochen voellig aus um hier alles zu sehen. Schottland z.B. ist besser wenn man ruhe und Natur sucht, denn wenn man hier etwas vergleichbares findet hat garantiert irgentwer Muell hingeschmissen. Ausserdem ist die Luft da besser. Nun ueberlege ich morgen spontan nach Yogyarkarta zu fliegen um mir die beiden riesigen Tempel in der Umgebung anzusehen. Immerhin sind die fluege recht billig. Mein Rueckflug nach Deutschland waere dann am 28.4. oder so, je nachdem wann ich den Flug umbuchen kann, was bedeutet das ich noch vor dem ersten Mai wieder da bin. Bin gerade etwas frustriert, aber man lernt ja nie aus. Das naechste mal fahre ich woanders hin. Das einzig doofe an einer fruhen Rueckkehr waere das ich den Vulan auf Java verpassen werde. Bin gerade am ueberlegen ob es das wert ist.

Ubud...und eine Runde..und wieder Ubud

So, aus Ubud bin ich nach Tulamben gefahren, ein Ort der sich duch gar nichts auszeichnet. Ausser dem gesunkenen Wrack der USAT Liberty die direckt vor der Kueste liegt. Also war ich wieder mal schnorcheln wa noch viel viel besser war also das eine mal in Padagbai. Danach ging es nach ...aehh...dingens, am Lake Bratan in den Bergen. Ein grauseliger Ort. Erst hab ich mich auf der Suche nach einer Japanischen Hoehle im Jungel verlaufen, dann war es dort dauernd bewoelkt und regnerisch. Aber immerhin war der Wasserfall bei munduk ganz schoen den ich mir angeschaut hab. Heute bin ich nun zurueck nach Ubud, mal sehen wie lange ich diemal hier bleib. Der Weg hierher war aber eine kleine Odyssey, erst hat mich ein LKW-Fahrer mitgenommen der mich ueberzeugen wollte ihn nach Deutschland zu schmuggeln. Dieser hat mich dann an einem Tempel abgesetzt an dem angeblich Bemos fahren. Fuhren sie aber nicht. Gluecklicherweise konnte ich per Anhalter mit einem sehr netten Paar aus Japan nach Ubud gelangen! Und hier bin ich jetzt.
